The Common Induction Standards
TASS UK Training packs
TASS UK publish two training packs covering the Skills for Care generic Common Induction Standards.
- The Getting Started open learning pack will enable an individual who is beginning work in social care understand what is essential and link their knowledge directly to NVQ. The learning materials are easily completed in the 12 weeks allowed.
- The Getting Started training delivery pack provides all the materials that are required by a trainer to deliver training that covers the Common Induction Standards. The materials can be delivered to small or large groups and together make up approximately 5 days of training
TASS UK Independent assessment
TASS UK offers independent assessment to meet the Skills for Care Common Induction Standards. This assessment service provides an initial, simple, economic and independent way of checking that individual workers are safe to practice before they do!
Training programme approval
TASS UK are able to approve an organisation's own induction training programme. Approval through TASS UK involves self assessment against the Skills for Care Common Induction Standards. TASS UK will provide the materials to do this and support organisations through the process.
What do learners receive?
- Learners who pass the assessment will receive a TASS UK Common Induction Standards Certificate of Achievement, identifying their grade. It will be accompanied by information outlining the questions that were answered correctly. This will help managers top up the learner's assessment, particularly where the certificate is being used towards evidence for NVQ.
- This certificate of achievement (rather than completion or attendance) is of particular value as evidence for many other purposes too, for example any future inductions will be shorter and save on resources.
Who else can benefit from this service?
TASS UK can provide a summary of the test results proving how successful the training has been in relation to knowledge gained. This helps managers use resources wisely and trainers prove how effective their training has been.
What value do the TASS UK certificates have?
- TASS UK is a well-established and recognised VRQ centre in social care. TASS UK has registered and supported over 11,000 learners in more than 800 organisations since it began in 2003.
- TASS UK was initially set up in response to the requirement for an accreditation system in learning disability services. Other areas of social care recognised the value of this and many are looking for something that is similar.
